Trade grade

Fantasy Football Trade Analyzer & Calculator

Fantasy Trader is a free fantasy football trade analyzer and trade calculator built around rest-of-season value, not draft-day hype. Add the players on each side of a proposed trade for an instant grade, or import your Sleeper or ESPN league to get grades based on each team's actual starting lineup, plus trade recommendations a league mate could realistically accept.

How to use the trade calculator

  1. Pick your scoring. Choose PPR, half PPR or standard, 1QB or superflex, TE premium, flex spots and league size.
  2. Add the players. In Quick Trade, search for the players each side gives up. Or import your league and mark who's being traded from the real rosters.
  3. Read the grade. Each side gets a letter grade from A+ to F, plus a Fair Trade % that shows how balanced the deal is.

How the trade grade works

Raw value change is each side's rest-of-season PAR (points above a replacement-level player, for the games left this season) gained minus what it gives up. Starting-lineup impact is the more useful number — the change in that team's actual optimal starting lineup value, so a trade that fixes a real starting hole scores better than one that just stacks bench depth behind an already-strong position. Letter grades are based on starting-lineup impact, not raw value alone, and scaled to the size of the deal: an even trade is a B for both sides. Injured players count for less, based on the games they're expected to miss.

Fair Trade % vs. the letter grade

Fair Trade % is a separate number from the letter grade: it compares each side's raw value sent away to answer "is this trade balanced," not "does it help either team's lineup." A trade can read as 90%+ fair while one side's letter grade is still poor, if what that team received doesn't fit its actual roster needs.

What makes a fantasy football trade fair?

A fair trade gives both teams similar value for the rest of the season, not for the whole year: a player who is hurt, or whose role has grown or shrunk, is worth more or less than his draft slot suggests. The best trades also fit each team's needs. Trading from a deep position to fill a weak one can help both lineups even when the raw values are close. In an imported league, the League needs table shows every team's strong and weak positions, so you can find the managers most likely to say yes.

Frequently asked questions

What is a fantasy football trade analyzer?

A fantasy football trade analyzer (or trade calculator) compares the players on each side of a proposed trade and tells you who comes out ahead. Fantasy Trader values every player by what they are worth for the rest of this season, then grades each side from A+ to F.

Is Fantasy Trader free to use?

Yes. Quick Trade (add the players on each side, no roster needed) and full league grading with Sleeper or ESPN import are both free, with no account or ads.

Can I import my Sleeper or ESPN league?

Yes. For Sleeper, paste your league URL or ID; Sleeper league data is public, so it imports instantly and detects your scoring settings. For ESPN, paste your league URL. Public leagues import right away, and private leagues can be imported with the iPhone Share-menu shortcut, the desktop bookmarklet, or a saved league data file.

Does it work with my league's scoring settings?

Yes. PPR, QB format (1QB or superflex), TE premium, flex spot count, and team count are all adjustable, and every player's value recomputes live. Importing a Sleeper league detects your real settings automatically.

How are 2-for-1 trades graded?

The side that sends more players gets a small bonus for the roster spot it opens up, and players below replacement level count as zero, so throwing in a bench player can't sway the grade.

Does Fantasy Trader support dynasty leagues or draft picks?

Not yet. Fantasy Trader focuses on redraft leagues and rest-of-season value for the current NFL season.

How current are the player values?

Rest-of-season values are updated weekly from this season's real stats blended with preseason projections, so values shift with performance, role changes, injuries, and games remaining.
